Jupiter - It is the most benefic planet and it represents all the auspicious things like Knowledge, Wisdom, Law, Guru, Spirituality, Religion, Philosophy, Literature, Elderly People and Children etc. For a girl, Jupiter also represents Husband.
Jupiter’s Aspects – In Astrology, Jupiter has 3 aspects. Jupiter aspects 5th house from its position, 7th house from its position and 9th house from its position. So, if Jupiter is at 1st house in chart then it will aspect 5th house, 7th house and 9th house. If Jupiter is at 4th house, it will aspect 8th house, 10th house and 12th house. So, this way Jupiter aspects at 3 different houses from its place. As we know that normally planets aspect only 7th house from its place, so we can say that Jupiter has 2 special aspects, i.e. 5th house and 9th house aspect.
Reasons behind Special Aspects of Jupiter – Now, why Jupiter got these 2 additional special aspects?
- 5th house – 5th house is house of Education, Children, Teaching, Counselling and Happiness etc. Jupiter is the natural significator of all these things in Astrology. So, it is easy to understand why Jupiter got its 5th house aspect?
- 9th house – Likewise, 9th house is house of Higher Education, Religion, Teachers, Guru, Ancient Texts, Pilgrimages and Dharma etc. Jupiter is again the natural karaka of all these things. Hence, it got 9th house too. Also, Sagittarius, being the 9th zodiac sign, originally falls in 9th house and it is ruled by Jupiter. So, 9th house aspect came naturally to Jupiter.
Dignity of Jupiter – As we can see that Jupiter and its aspects are all about knowledge and education, its important to understand the dignity of Jupiter as that will decide if person will easily get knowledge or he will have to put lots of efforts. It will also decide whether the knowledge received is actually the righteous one or wrong one. So, Jupiter’s dignity also decides the kind of morals we get in life. Following is the dignity of Jupiter in different signs –
- Jupiter in Fire Signs (Aries, Leo & Sagittarius) – A person all charged up to get Knowledge. They are driven towards getting knowledge but it can be a double-edged sword as if they get wrong knowledge, they will even be fundamentalist and adamant on their beliefs.
- Jupiter in Cancer – Exalted Jupiter. Highest Knowledge. Knowledge comes easily and without much effort. He gets right Gurus easily in life.
- Jupiter in Pisces – Highly Spiritual. This person gets knowledge only to help others. No desire to achieve anything for himself.
- Jupiter in Scorpio – Here person can go through changes in his belief system. He will find many Gurus giving conflicting education and thus, his own beliefs will always be changing.
- Jupiter in Fall Signs (Gemini & Virgo) – Here also Jupiter gives knowledge but it is not happy here as these signs are ruled by Mercury. So, Jupiter gives knowledge but person either is unable to use it or misuses it.
- Jupiter in Taurus & Libra – These two are Venus ruled signs. Venus is Jupiter’s enemy. As Venus represents Wealth, here Jupiter gives materialistic knowledge. So, we can say that as per Jupiter’s role, person gets wrong knowledge here.
- Jupiter in Aquarius – Neutral Position. So, this is a person who has this average energy of Knowledge, neither too easy nor too hard.
- Jupiter in Capricorn – Debilitated Jupiter. This is where wrong morals can easily come up. Person may have hard time finding knowledge or Guru. Guru comes in life in 30s and even then person may not value his advice or teachings.
- Another interesting thing is that Jupiter is badly placed in 7 out of 12 signs. As Jupiter represents Husband, it shows that when marriage fails then there are more chances that Husband was irresponsible towards relationship which ended the relation.
We also need to take into consideration that Jupiter gains directional strength in 1st house and loses it in 7th house. So, its position in these houses also changes the interpretations of its aspects.
Also, we need to take the energy of the houses which Jupiter rules in a particular chart through its signs Sagittarius and Pisces.
Last but not the least; the age of maturity of Jupiter is 24 years. So, if someone is older than 24, result may be more favourable as it is now a matured energy.
Retrograde or Combust Jupiter – Retrograde or Combust Jupiter gains its strength through years and becomes more favourable to individual since 30s. So, such a person may have a complete change in his belief system in 30s then what he was following in life up to 30 years of age.
Interpretation of Aspects – Now finally, following will be the way to interpret Jupiter’s aspects –
- 5th house aspect – As 5th house relate to Education, Teaching and Counselling etc. It shows that wherever Jupiter aspects at 5th house from its position, person wants to educate, teach and preach about things or people related to that house. Like, if Jupiter is in 12th house, it will aspect 4th house with its 5th aspect. This shows that person behaves like a Teacher when he is at home or home environment. He will be like a Counsellor at home in every situation. If Jupiter is at 2nd house, 5th aspect will go to 6th house. So, this person will be like a guide at his daily work environment or with his colleagues. If Jupiter is in 9th house, 5th aspect will be at Ascendant itself. Here, whole personality will become of a Teacher or Counselor.
- 7th house aspect – Jupiter’s 7th house aspect shows where or with whom person wants to interact and share his knowledge and wisdom. 7th house will always remain a place where you share, deal or interact with other people. Like, if Jupiter is in 1st house, person will become like Teacher or Guide to Spouse. If Jupiter is in 4th house, person will share his knowledge and wisdom with people at work place.
- 9th house aspect – 9th house remains house of Higher Education, Teachers or Gurus, Philosophy etc. So, wherever Jupiter sends its 9th house aspect, person gains higher education related with that house, develop his own philosophy and with time, he will become Guru himself regarding things related to that house. Like, Jupiter in 4th house will send 9th aspect to 12th house of Spirituality. With time, they will develop their own Philosophy in Spiritual Matters and will be seen like a Guru. If Jupiter is in 10th house, person will develop his own philosophy of his daily work or dealing with obstacles in life and will be seen as Teacher in their daily work or within Colleagues.
- So, this is the way aspects of Jupiter can be interpreted but again, dignity given above will decide how a person will receive and share knowledge and wisdom?
