Moon in Ashlesha Nakshaktra.
Let’s look at important things here –
Moon - Moon represents Mind, Emotions, Mother, Local Government, Peace of Mind, Home Environment, Water, Milk etc.
Ashlesha - Ashlesha represents our insecurities and weaknesses as a human being. It is a nakshatra of clinging on to someone or something. It also represents psychological issues. For more information on Ashlesha Nakshatra, please check this link - https://www.astrosaxena.com/Ashlnaksh.
Cancer - As Ashlesha is a part of Cancer, Cancer sign and its representations become important. Cancer is 4th sign of Zodiac Belt, hence it represents the things represented by 4th house like Mother, Mother's Care, Emotions, Taking Care of Others and Nourishment etc. Cancer is consisted of 2 and half Nakshatras namely Punarvasu, Pushyami and Ashlesha. Cancer's lord is Moon, which again represents almost same things which Cancer and 4th house represents.
Moon - As Moon rules Cancer, Moon's position and dignity is important to know about the overall functioning of any planet in Ashlesha/Cancer.
Mercury - As Ashlesha is ruled by Mercury, Mercury's position and dignity will also have an important role in functioning and results of any planet in Ashlesha.
Houses Involved – Also, we can’t afford to forget the houses involved as a planet can be ruling different houses and sitting in different house for every person as per ascendant and planet’s position. To know overall affect, we have to consider the houses involved as those areas of life are being impacted.
Interpretation of Moon in Ashlesha Nakshatra – After Moon in Ardra, this is another troublesome position for Moon to be in and reasons are many. It is nakshatra ruled by Mercury, enemy of Moon. It is nakshatra which ends in Gandanta. But moreover, Ashlesha represents our insecurities. Hence, Moon in Ashlesha creates an insecured mind. They are insecured people who can cling to almost anything or anyone regardless of the fact that it is even worthy of clinging or not. As Cancer is sign of emotions and Ashlesha is ruled by Mercury which represents cleverness, Moon in Ashlesha rotates around being emotional or being practical/clever. Either they can be emotional fools or they can be extremely cunning. So, they can be at these 2 extremes. But underneath all, the feeling of insecurity remains in the mind. This position can be seen at worse when a person is suffering in abusive relation but still clinging on to that abusive person as they don't see any hope of getting any other person in future. This position can also lead to some psychological illness. Now, the way to use it positively is to utilize the same energy in helping those who are going through similar psychological issues. Hence, they can be seen as healer, counselor or psychologists too. As Ashlesha is represented by entwined snake, it represents kundalini energy. It shows that same emotional turmoil can lead to spiritual awakening in person if he is inclined towards meditation or other spiritual pursuits. It also shows an insecured Mother.
Role of Moon – As we are discussing about Moon's position only, we need not to separately see for Moon's position.
Role of Mercury - Mercury's placement is important to guide Moon in right direction, being Ashlesha's lord.
Other Factors – And of course, we need to consider conjunction, aspects, house lordship, house position and dashas etc to know the exact results of Moon in Ashlesha. So, we always need to take a holistic view of chart rather than just 1 planetary position.
Conclusion – So, this is how I see Moon in Ashlesha can work in a chart.
Hope this helps. Thanks,
SPB

2019-12-17 17:18:35Yeah, both my mother and father have aslesha moon, my fathers mother passed away before I was born and my mothers mother played favorites amongst her children, my mother being the one constantly manipulated. To make matters worse, my mother has aslesha moon conjunct ketu and my father has aslesha moon conjunct rahu. Being their son is extremely draining and not leaving them will only result in a shortened life for myself
