Reasons behind debilitation of Sun in Libra – Basically, Sun represents our Soul or our Ego and Libra is sign of Relationship or Market Place. Libra represents the energy of 7^th house.

As discussed, Sun is exalted in Aries because it gets the best environment to shine bright and boost the ego of individual. Now, Sun is 180 degree opposite to Aries. So, the environment of Libra sign is the worst environment for growth of individualistic ego. When Sun is in Libra, Ego has to deal with Relationship. As I always say, either you can have your relationship or you can have your ego. You can’t have both. Hence, in the sign of Libra, the individualistic ego goes for a toss. Person has to let-go of his ego and egoistic desires a lot if he wants to sustain the relations. Person’s Sun or Ego takes a beating. Hence, Sun is debilitated.

Another way to understand the same thing is that in the sign of Libra, Sun is dealing with masses and other people in market place. Who cares about a person’s individual ego when he is in market place?

Yet another way to understand it is that Sun is King and Libra is sign of Peace. Normally, a King wants to fight wars and expand his Kingdom. Here, King has to take the matters of peace and diplomacy in his hands. Hence, King is not feeling too happy here in the sign of Libra.

Reasons behind debilitation of Sun in Swati – As discussed, when we study about why Sun is debilitated in Swati nakshatra then one of the reasons we get is that Swati is ruled by Rahu and Rahu eclipses Sun that’s why it is debilitated in Rahu’s Nakshatra. But we can’t rely on this logic because then it can’t be exalted in Ashwini Nakshatra because Ashwini is also ruled by Ketu and Ketu also eclipses Sun. So, there has to be some other reason behind Sun’s debilitation in Swati Nakshatra.

Sun gets debilitated in Swati Nakshatra at 10 degrees which is in 2^nd Pada of Swati Nakshatra.

Now 1^st of all, split this word Swati in two parts.

Sw + Ati. Sw means Self and Ati means Extreme. So, Swati means Extreme of Self.

Now, apply Sun’s energy here and you will understand.

Sun is Self/Soul/Ego or a King.  Swati is Extreme of Self. So, Sun in Swati means a person who is extremely self-indulgent. His whole focus is on Self.

A King can be a good King or bad King. A good King is one who shares his power with people and empowers his people. A bad King is one who is insecured and worried about himself. His whole focus is his own growth and safety. Hence, he manipulates the power given to him and tries to dominate & control his people.

This is what happens when Sun is in Swati. This person can be so full of himself and his own petty ego that he may not concern about others. He is all about his own sustenance and survival. Hence, Sun is in Swati Nakshatra.

Recently, I was watching this Netflix Series on Dr Sigmund Freud, named Freud. Many of us know that Dr Freud left his job with Government and started his own practice but we may not know the reason why? The reason was that Emperor or Government of that time tried to force Sigmund Freud to not to share his discoveries of Psycho-Analysis through books or other writing as Government was afraid that if people come to know about the real power of Human Mind then it will be impossible for Governments to manipulate or control people.

This is a clear sign of bad King or bad Government.

Then Sun is exalted at 10 degrees of Swati which falls into 2^nd Pada of Swati Nakshatra and sends Sun in Capricorn sign of D-9 and D-10 chart. As these two divisional charts are considered as most important divisional charts, we can get an indication as to why Sun is getting debilitated at exact 10 degrees?

It is because in both D-9 and D-10 charts also, this Sun is losing its dignity and it is in its great enemy sign ruled by Saturn. Sun-Saturn enmity is the biggest enmity where they don’t want to see each other’s face. As Sun is losing its dignity in all D-1, D-9 and D-10 charts when Sun is in Libra/Swati/10 degree, hence it is debilitated there.

One can say that if Sun is in next pada of Swati then also it will fall in Saturn’s Aquarius sign in D-9 and D-10. That’s true but Aquarius is Saturn’s Mool Trikon Sign where it is little bit mild but in Capricorn sign, Saturn is in its full swing.

Conclusion – As I see, these are the reasons why I feel Sun is debilitated in Libra sign and Swati Nakshatra at 10 degree.
