Planets in 12th house and Spirituality
There was a request to write about how planets in 12th house impact our lives and specially Spirituality?
12th house is basically a House of Losses. It may or may not be the actual financial loss but 12th house represents the things about which person would have a sense of loss about. Of course, nothing is permanent in life and things improve with age and experience. This is where I am saying that "to begin life" person will have these feelings of losses. So, whichever planet is there in 12th house, we begin the life with feeling a sense of loss related with that planet. That planet improves during the life when we learn our lessons in life and give our best efforts for that planet to improve things in life. In other words, consider that planet in the bucket of losses to start your life and now if you want to gain anything related with that planet, you may need to put extra effort throughout life. Also, many a times, person gets better results of that planet after going far away from birth place as 12th house is farthest away from 1st house. Like,
Sun - Person will have lack of confidence or self-worth, especially if he is staying at his birth place. People will put him down and hurt his confidence. Confidence grows only after moving away from birth place. Career/Authority/Recognition may come away from birth place. In spiritual beliefs, they can have ego clashes with people. Here, they need to realize that Spirituality and Ego are opposite to each other. Rather than having ego clashes with others in spiritual matters, they should start working on ways to dissolve their ego.
Moon – Here, Mind feels lost and person finds peace of mind in places away from home land. They will have a sense of loss in their relation with Mother. They will also feel like emotional draining when they are trying to connect with others. It can be a spiritual mind especially if Moon is in good dignity. It can also be a mind which wants to tap into the unknown, hidden or sub-conscious. At times, it also makes an escapist mind.
Mars – With Mars, they feel that their efforts are going into drainage. They feel that they never get deserved results of their efforts, actions and hard work. Again, their actions are better recognized away from home land or birth place. In spiritual matters, they can be dominant about their beliefs. They may be ready to fight for it. Again, they need to realize that rather than wasting their energy in fighting over their spirituality, they must utilize the same energy in pursuing their spirituality. They should put the same energy in Yoga, Meditation etc.
Mercury – Mercury is debilitated in Pisces which is 12th sign and has natural 12th house energy. So, Mercury in 12th house is where person feels a sense of loss in matters of communication. He feels that he is unable to convey his thoughts with people around him but it only means that person’s imagination and communication is beyond comprehension of people around him. It actually makes a great author as they can reduce their imagination into writing. In matters of spirituality, they can be very unstable as Mercury is traveler. They can be following this Guru today and that Guru tomorrow. This is where they find biggest issue in spirituality.
Venus – In matters of relationship they will have a sense of loss. They will feel that in matters of relation, their efforts to sustain it, are going into losses. They feel a loss from partner. Similar loss can be felt in matters of finances where they may feel that they are unable to save their money. For Spirituality, it can be very good position as they will find happiness in spiritual matters and it can make them pursue their spiritual views.
Jupiter – Jupiter can be really good for spiritual matters in 12th house. Though it will still give a sense of loss in matters of family life. We can relate this position with story of Pushya Nakshatra where Jupiter was busy with his spiritual pursuits and meditation but not giving any attention to his wife Tara. So, this can be the best placement among all for spiritual matters.
Saturn – Saturn in 12th house can delay the spiritual evolution of person and they may have to work really hard over long period of time to evolve in spirituality. They may find their right Guru or right spiritual belief system with delay in life.
Rahu – Rahu in 12th house can make someone gain from foreign lands but person can have spendthrift nature. In spiritual matters, Rahu can give them unusual or unconventional views. Their Guru is also very unconventional one. At times, they can be spiritually obsessed.
Ketu - Ketu in 12th house is considered as Moksha-Margi position of Ketu but it can also give some very weird or split spiritual views. They can be spiritually inclined in Ketu Dasha or 12th house Dasha. I think we cannot predict if anyone is going to be liberated or enlightened. So, we can keep it limited up to spiritual evolution of person.
Malefic Planets in 12th house can make a person spendthrift or they find it hard to save their money. Needless to say that dignity of planets will change the results.
PS - If there is no planet in 12th house then wherever 12th house lord goes, person may have sense of loss related with things of that house.
